Mystic Mixtape explores Astrology, Tarot, and The Occult—how they relate to music, human experience, and daily life. Our guest for season 2, episode 11 is Michael Rubano, a vintage audio equipment expert who was also the audio technician to a certain alternative rock band in their earliest days (The "Rubano Tapes" vol 1 and 2 are presently available via Madame ZuZu's website.)
Mike specializes in the repair of receivers, speakers, amplifiers, and turntables from the 1930s through the 1970s. In the 2010s, he co-founded Chicago Audio Collective and produced several videos on the repair and performance of rare pieces of vintage audio equipment. He currently contributes to Humbucker Soup. We love talking about the "mystic" but this episode is definitely more about the music!!
